You may not yet have heard of Jason Christopher Peters, but you will soon.  Widely considered one of the fashion industry’s newest and brightest stars, JCP and his work, is very much a product of San Francisco.

Having been subjected to great personal hardship, (the details of which are rumored but not confirmed by the private designer), JCP rose from the ashes to become one of the industry’s most innovative young talents.  It was no surprise to me when I sat down with JCP to learn that he was born, raised, educated in the bay Area and currently works in San Francisco.
The San Francisco Bay Area, home to the country’s most concentrated well of intellectual resources, did not fall short on JCP.

Like many of the Bay Area’s other innovators, (think Jobs, Schwab, Moore) JCP approaches his work in an ‘all encompassing’ manner.

“Fashion is more than just what we wear” says  Jason.
I design my pieces with a consistent focus on the ways in which fashion can affect the other aspects of our person.  My goal is to create pieces that will literally improve the lives of those who wear them… one of kind pieces that foster self-confidence.  My desire is to catalyze an attitude of sophistication.  My clients look impeccable and they feel sexy, classy, unique, flawless, and fabulous.  I am about progressive thought.  I am about positive energy.  San Francisco is very much an influencing factor for me”, adds Peters.

My first reaction to such a grandly sweeping statement was of skepticism.  Yet, sitting next to the quiet and deeply intense man, (who at shows is often mistaken for one of his models) I find myself immediately convinced of his sincerity.

Looking into his eyes I could feel the emotion and pain that formed the impetus for his creative expression.

Overwhelmingly though, it was his optimism and positive attitude that I walked away with and that touched me.
“Yes, I’ve had some rough times.  Those times made me stronger, wiser and more determined then ever. That is why I named the tour "The Stronger Then Yesterday" Couture fashion tour.
Perseverance is a divine attribute.  My work reflects the perseverance in the wearer”,shares Jason.

It is easy to be a JCP fan.

It is also easy to be enamored by his looks and charm.  It’s his passion for helping people that is paramount.  This heartfelt sincerity is clearly reflected in his work, and I believe it is the main reason he is becoming so popular.

His current line of couture for men and women features an impressively wide array of fabrics and prices.

Throughout the line he uses imported silks, stretch materials, tulle, feathers, beading, and a handsome variety of Swaroski crystals and embellishments.

Prices range from a $250 strapless silk gown to a $2500 Swaroski crystal swimwear set.

“It is important to me that my pieces be accessible for people in all income brackets.  It is important to me that my pieces be wearable, fun, and deliver on the goal of fostering pride, growth, and self-realization”, says Jason.

If you haven’t yet seen JCP’s work you are truly in for a special treat.  This young man, a product of his circumstances and San Francisco, delivers on the hype.

JCP’s “Stronger than Yesterday” tour is making stops in Reno, Vegas, Miami, Manhattan, Palm Springs, and Beverly Hills among other cities.
